The Double

Daily Life 22

The Double

Portion
2 Kings 2:1-15

THE YEAR for the Strong.
Have you ever wondered why Elisha asked for the double portion?

“And it came to pass when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee before I am taken away from thee. And Elisha said I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.” 2 Kings‬ 2:9‬ KJV‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

  1. The world was changing;
  2. The challenges and tasks would get more complicated;
  3. The nations and people will into famine situations like the COVID-19;
  4. There will be a whole lot of lands, buildings, governments, and people that ungodly leaders will impact;
  5. There will be more fear, threats than there are growths and opportunities;

GOING the Extra Mile
It is alarming to see many people who want their situation to change for the better but do not want to pay the price. Many believers wish to enjoy the good life but do not want to seek God and His kingdom. Matt.6:33. There is the desire to get anointed and walk-in power but are not ready to make the necessary commitment and sacrifice to fast and pray.

A Great number of Believer are standing afar as spectators;
“And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.” 2 Kings‬ 2:7‬ KJV.
The Lord said the gold and diamonds are just right beneath the surface but will require the efforts to dig it out.‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

DISTRACTION need watched
As you seek an impactful life this year, one of Satan’s tactics is to use distraction to block, limit, impede or delay your attaining or completing the task; This can come from your child, spouse, friends, parents, etc.

“And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head today? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.” 2 Kings‬ 2:5‬ KJV‬‬

Watch out for agents of discouragement. As you press forward and pursue your impact case, change, and transformation in your businesses, ministry, or career, the enemy will be watching. But in the name of Jesus, God shall blind their eyes and turn them away.

What You Need to Do:

  1. Be vigilant. 1 Peter 5:8;
  2. Be focused. Pro.4:25;
  3. Maintain the stride. Pro.30:29;
  4. Be committed. Ruth 1:16;
  5. Be in prayers. 1 Thessalonians 5:17;

DESPERATION for Impact
The desire is in the pursuit. Oh! I pray today that restlessness will stir up inside your belly, inside your heart, and around you, that God will make a difference in your life through greater anointing. Not the power to glamour over or give you prestige, but the ability to wreak havoc on Satan’s world and domain. Having a double portion will cause you to maneuver over the enemy’s camps, even before they know it. Through God’s power, you will operate at levels and realms impossible to see and detect.

PRAYER POINTS

  1. Father in the name of Jesus, let birthing take place today of men and women like Elisha, with passion for more incredible things. “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he also do; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” John‬ 14:12‬ KJV‬; let there arise a new hunger in us today for more of you;‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
  2. Father in the name of Jesus, today we pray against all agents of darkness and familiar spirits lurking around to attack our focus and distract us; we pull over the veil of the blood of Jesus over our heart, soul, and Body in the mighty name of Jesus;
  3. Father in the name of Jesus, we receive today fresh impartation of your power for extraordinary things; help us, Lord, to be willing to sacrifice our comfort, food, desires, etc., to pursue what you want;
  4. Father in the name of Jesus, help us to count the cost, and be willing to pay the price; allow us to go over the edge or limits of our visions if that is what it will take to break into this realm of double portion Anointing;
